2 events,At this event we share the artistry of no wind kite flying, featuring fliers from all over the world. This means you! We invite you to join us for the 2026 Virtual Windless Kite Festival on April 4, 2026! How can you participate? If you are interested in submitting a video, take a look at the Video Requirements below and start preparing. Take a look at our 2024 and 2025 Virtual Festivals to gather some ideas: Don't Fly? We invite you to join us and be taken in by the beauty, creativity, and the wonder of this unique sport of NO Wind Kite Flying! Share this event with your friends and family. Kite fliers love to share their talents and put on a show, and we appreciate your viewership! When? A link to view the event will be posted on Facebook (www.facebook.com/groups/windless/) a few hours prior to the event start of 11 AM (PT) on April 4th, 2026. Feel free to join in as the livestream begins. Video Requirements: Videos should be 2-4 minutes. We will not be accepting videos submitted under 2 minutes long. Videos must be in 16x9 “landscape” mode. This means to rotate your phone so the long axis is following the horizon. If possible, try to shoot your video in at least 1080p video resolution. Videos should be submitted in a MP4 video format. This is an all-age friendly event. Music must match that description. Make sure your music is clear to hear. Editing sound directly to your video will have the best results. Your first submission is final. Do not submit more than one video. Deadline to submit is March 28th, 2026 Submit videos here: https://forms.gle/FoTGtRvKbe2zk5By9 Notes: Your video should feature you, your kite, and your artistry. Be creative, have fun. Shorter lines make it easier to fly in zero to low wind, also making it easier to fit you and your kite in the camera view at the same time. If there are any questions about the guidelines or you have issues submitting, feel free to reach out to us and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. |

Lost during COVID, this popular local event has returned for 2026. It's to the left as you exit the Kingston Ferry, but you need to go up and around to access the parking lot (use Google Maps or similar). Ocean Shore Kites (Andy & Brenda) will be there assisting and with kites. BRING YOUR KITES, do some kite demo'ing, assist with the kitemaking (I'm sure they could use help with this). Food vendors will be onsite. |

Every year for MANY years the WKA has hosted a kids kitemaking table at the Fest. Started by the late Jerry Graham (WKA member and officer), he and Carl Williamson and volunteers showed kids how to put together a sled kite. Over time the table coordination was transferred to Rick White and now Rick and Bonnie Ecker coordinate the table. Funny thing, it started with about 250 kites being made by the kids. Today, the lines have become so long that we have to pre-assemble 700 kites to simply hand out. The event has been extremely popular for the military kids and it's so fun to watch them fly their kites. Location is outside the JBLM Festival Tent. If you don't have military ID, you will need to get a Visitors Pass at the Visitor Center, Main Gate.
