This annual kick-off-the New Year also kick-starts kiteflying for the New Year. Join the Washington Kitefliers Association at Golden Gardens Park in Ballard (Seattle) at the far north field. Some kids kites will be available. We bring hot dogs, chili, hot chocolate and potluck to share under a pop-up tent. Bring your chair for chat, dress warm, and don't forget to BRING YOUR KITES and ground art. Let's colorize the park in winter.
Join the Whidbey Island Kite Fliers at Fort Casey State Park for a cool New Year's Day fun fly. Bring your kites to color the park. Note: There might be a restriction on pounding stakes into the ground. A WA St Discover Pass is required to use this park. DiscoverPass.wa.gov. Annual pass is $50, single day pass is $11.50. You can also get this when you renew your vehicle license through the Dept of Licensing. Fort Casey State Park also sells the single day pass onsite and at the ranger office. DO GET ONE or you could get a ticket! Support your Washington State Parks. They do an incredible job with so little funding.
